Sun Salutation

260433_10150280088225152_1210717_nSun Salutation (Surya Namaskar) is part of Hatha Yoga (the “physical” part of Yoga).

Sun Salutation has multiple mental and physical benefits. In only ten minutes you can achieve a low impact workout that combines both Resistance Training (e.g. weight lifting) and Cardiovascular (“Cardio”) Training.

The fitness community accepts the fact that cardiovascular exercise has reduced benefits (e.g. fat burning ends once the cardio exercise stops). It also has disadvantages like tear and wear of joints.

Resistance Training on the other hand, has multiple benefits: increases muscle mass hence more fat burning capability, increases bone density to mention just a few. The drawback: it is painful (I know I don’t like the feeling of burning in my muscles, even though I know it is good for me). Resistance training is also time consuming and it may increase blood pressure momentarily if not done properly.

A good compromise is Interval Training that consists of hard alternated with light pace cardio exercise. And this is exactly where Sun Salutation comes in. It is similar with Interval Training by combining a low impact resistance training (push-ups, squats) with cardio exercise. Even better, the benefits of Sun Salutation don’t stop at the physical level: your mind benefits as well.

Regular practice of Sun Salutation benefits your body with:

  • Increased blood oxygenation by copious lung ventilation and this is great news for your heart.
  • Stretches and tones your muscles keeping them supple and flexible.
  • Clears your elimination channels helping your body rid itself of toxins. This is especially good in the morning after many hours of lack of movement during sleep (the lymphatic system eliminates toxins through movement).
  • Stimulates and tones your Endocrine system (especially the Thyroid, the master gland that controls all the other glands).
  • Tones up the internal abdominal organs by alternate stretching, compression cycles that results in better digestion and bowel movement.
  • Increases spine and waist flexibility.

The mental benefits of Sun Salutation are similar with meditation. You can look at Sun Salutation as meditation in movement. It is not random that Tai-Chi (Chinese) or Karate, have a similar focussed mind on movement approach at the core of their practice. Sun Salutation helps to:

  • Increase your mental focus and concentration.
  • Reduce depression, anxiety and stress by reducing key markers like Cortisol.
  • Increase the quantity of “good mood” neurotransmitters like Serotonin.
  • Increase mind to body coordination which is very good especially for older persons.

If done properly, twelve repetitions of Sun Salutation (six pairs of Sun Salutation starting with one leg and then the other), go a long way. It takes roughly 30-40 seconds for one complete cycle (twelve postures flowing from one to the other). Add two minutes of relaxation at the end, to allow your body implement the “reset” you just performed, and you are ready for the new day.

Ten minutes all together in the morning will help you look at the unwinding life from a different perspective.

The Art of Contrology, Pilates Method

Was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. Pilates wrote at least two books about the Pilates method: Return to Life through Contrology and Your Health: A Corrective System of Exercising That Revolutionizes the Entire Field of Physical Education. Pilates called his method The Art of Contrology, which refers to the way the method encourages the use of the mind to control the muscles. It is an exercise program that focuses on the core postural muscles that help keep the body balanced and are essential to providing support for the spine. In particular, Pilates Method teach awareness of neutral alignment of the spine and strengthening the deep postural muscles that support this alignment, which are important to help alleviate and prevent back pain and other musculoskeletal issues.

Thought Contrology we achieve better life.  I can experience beyond of the multiples training I have done.  Pilates Method; has being helping me in my own Rehab program.  Honestly I can say “I am Return to Life Thought Contrology” is a motivating book originally published in 1945.

Yoga helps in the removal of the work pressure, extreme fatigue; it is a sport and art preferences that lot of people who suffer from work pressures and everyday problems, and boredom, nervousness, and sometimes feeling tired, fatigue, and heart aches or high blood pressure or back pain or problems in the ear and eye, but the exercise duration should not exceed three minutes, in different ways sensory and physical supervised by an experienced coach. The art of yoga breathing and meditation is through practicing the art of breathing and meditation, and correct posture we can get rid of the pressures of daily life, and ease tension and stress and anxiety. The practice of yoga rest of the body, spirit and breath and the situation of feeling active and vital spiritual, all give a positive result and enthusiasm for life. Yoga is learning to control the breath and soul. A book how to learn yoga for the author Narayan “The philosophy of yoga” was published in 1998. According to this book, yoga science aims to restore balance. Yoga will help all those who practice this sport, regardless of race or religion because it is based on the spirit of man as a highness human being and all spirits is equal in properties and potential. • Why did you choose Qatar to teach yoga?

I live here in Qatar with my husband,

am always busy and happy with what I do, I have my goals for a program that put me to my days, and this is what gives me the strength to help others to learn the principles of yoga.

 

• What are the psychological and physical benefits of yoga?

–    In fact, the benefits of yoga is a special correlation between what is sensuous and physical, the physical benefits of yoga are:

Self-confidence, maintaining a positive vision of ourselves

Maintaining a healthy weight, fitness levels are reasonable.

Avoid aging, maintaining strong bones and muscles.

Avoid disease; maintain the health of internal organs of the body such as the heart. Physical benefits: mental comfort, the ability to enjoy life, and see things more rationally.

Movement and breathing, the ability to move freely, and deep breathing, stamina, the ability to self-mute, power, maintenance and the ability to change easily.

• How can we estimate the length of time to give yoga classes?

I teach yoga from the depths of my heart, for special needs such as accepting reflex, and my creative is the creation of innovative yoga and relaxation for all.

The Breathing Yoga is more of the teaching methods created for happiness and health, where it makes slight changes in our lives, everything possible if we really want the change to make our lives healthier and more expansion with our families and friends.

 

• What is the length of the specific lessons to teach yoga full?

I teach yoga with all my heart and in all honesty, for people with special needs, such as pre-natal, relaxation and yoga in my country, breathing yoga, and most likely to teach the way to be happy and healthy with changing only a few points in our lives, everything is possible if we really want a change, The health benefits for us and to our family and friends becomes possible.

 

• When you finish the lesson, do you need to follow up training to eliminate the bulk of psychological crises?

That’s life in fact, it is a journey and we must learn how to get out of it, training ourselves and our bodies in order to obtain a positive vision to move forward in this way.

 

• Back to when the assets of the sport or the art of yoga?

Yoga is an Indian physical education, years ago and is in fact a union

between mind, body, and yoga is living in dramatic surroundings.

 

• What is the appropriate age to start yoga and what is the appropriate number of exercised in a week?

In fact, there is no certain age to practice yoga, it is to move the body and relax the mind.

 

• What did your teachers in the science of yoga teach you and what was it easy to identify?

I have the greatest respect to them; they have purity in the soul and strength in mind.

 

• What did you learn from your famous teacher in yoga, teacher Dave Oliver and what distinguishes this man?

Dave Oliver has a great spirit and strong mind, he has all my respect

• Is the force and health provided by Yoga for man, a permanent or just an image only? Does the benefits of yoga linked to the practice of sport with yoga?

Yoga is a way of life that provides human health with happiness and a sense of

developing the mind and thought in the framework of positive perspective.

 

• Why would you recommend training on cycling in enclosed spaces?

Cycling is excellent, it helps in exercising the heart and blood vessels have a significant impact, to develop strength in the body, especially in the legs, and improve the breathing functions of the lungs, also cycling in enclosed spaces allow for a monitoring program which leads to improve the psychological conditions.

 

• What is the appropriate country to study yoga?

In any country at any time, Yoga does not have specific time, it is necessary to follow the heart and body.

 

• Is there anyone interested in studying yoga in Qatar?

In Qatar there are many people interested in the agility and fitness and the treatment of crises and psychological distress.

 

• Does yoga make a person healthy and strong beyond that stage or is it just a phase?

The practice of any sport makes a person healthy and enjoying physical activity lasting condition is to keep the permanent benefit on the exercise of any type of sport, including yoga. Namaste.

Dear Students of LuzLife, Spiritual Fitness; I am delight to share with all of you a nice article   about of my Job and my journey here in Qatar.

Here she does one-one-one sessions, especially with people who have back and spinal injuries, but also host group sessions that she like to call “Pilates Express”.  ”Life at lunch time”, she tells us, “people come over here, you can arrange with your friends, and you can do an express session” She’ll teach four to six peoples in classes like this, as she believes ay more will ruin the focus of the group.

Today celebrating 3 months after facing very complex surgery.  Positive Mind and determination; sharing with you my new Path. Sharing this note; that one of my lovely client and friend Rowland Hayler; send to me few days ago.

Riding the roads of Qatar can be perilous for a number of reasons.  If you survive a ride without experiencing severe dehydration and/or getting crushed by a 4×4 as the driver speeds through one of the many roundabouts – well done!

Of course, there are alternatives: (1) don’t ride at all, (2) ride in the middle of the night, (3) ride an indoor trainer in your own air conditioned home, or (4) attend spin classes.  I decided on option (4) although I didn’t entirely give up my long-ish (100 mile) weekend aerobic road rides altogether!

After about a month in Qatar, I started attending spin classes at the Sheraton Hotel.  These classes were led by Luz Lovern and were typically one hour long, held 3 times per week.  The classes proved to be a lifeline for me.  The routines were mixed, session to session with great music and a fun group of class mates of diverse backgrounds.  Having attended many spin classes in the past, it soon became clear that Luz is indeed a rare talent.  A truly inspirational person and class leader, who pitched her sessions in such a way that they were valuable to riders of all experience and skills.

During the year that I was in Qatar, I regularly attended all Luz’s classes, 3 times per week – she also provided me with excellent nutrition advice and during this time I attained my lowest ever adult racing weight.  Even today when I’m maxxed out & hurting like hell in the red zone, I remember the greatest advice she ever provided – “stay in the moment”.  It goes through my head like a mantra and I’ve successfully dealt with a lot of tough situations (on & off the bike) with this gestalt advice in mind!

All in all it was a really fulfilling experience, and although I left Qatar in 2009, I’m really pleased that Luz & I continue to stay in regular contact through the power of social media!  I only wish I could still attend her classes!!

Hello Universe!

Time to move on… back to Thailand Bangkok for training with the best atmosphere for open the mind and let the recharge my energies with the green and the blue sky…

This time I like to share with all of you my journey, now facing “the land of the smile” to learn and immerse my self en new experiences, learning and training my self with the idea to be a better teacher today.

When they ask me why I keep training or why I am teach too much, is just because I like to learn from others the way out to be free of pain and suffering; no just physical also spiritual way.

To be happy is our goal in this planet yes? so for me happiness is something that we can build every day, with new experience and new challenge.  Renewing energies and be constantly flow.  Moving forward and growing from inside out.

I will be out of Qatar next month and I will be back to all of you with more energy, more experience and more smiles.

The greatest possession that we have is -self-possesion.

All we pursuit happiness like ultimate goal in our life.  We keep thinking that the paradise is far away and taking our retreat as a detox for mind and body; for sure is a great way to be recharge with good energy.  For how long we can keep this energy? for how long we can be balanced… we don’t know for sure.

What happens when we can’t go away and get the bliss done is fast track mode… So we need to be able to stand in our own feet and learning how we can be less stress, less unhappy and less selfish with our own existence.

We need to learn to cultivate our own soul food, grow and be still.  Facing every single day like a new day of hope, and be part of the Universe.422821_10150744536305152_98923893_n

If we are availabe to spend time with somebody that really need help or need some advice; you are going to have great and positive impact in your own path.  Give away love, time and listen others in some point you will get all the benefits back; just let flow like river, like cloud in the sky…, we are all connected and we need each others.

Just be sure when you are in front of any body that really need your help, be ready to give some “me time” away.  You will fell wonderful after that!

Then we can go for Meditation, Retreats and detox program; just be sure you are detoxing your daily existence and renewing energies, not matter where we are, and how is hour external and internal condition.  We can do better for others so we can do better for our self.429305_10150744539120152_1443722900_n

Here in Qatar we getting ready for another sunny summer; so better to get your mind and body in to shape for the summer.

As you know how important is keep your body in good shape not just for look good you will feel much better after each session. Always remember drink plenty water and follow a healthy food.  Honestly I don’t like to talk of “diet” because I believe that food is our friend, so please have plenty of healthy food, natural ingredients, read the label and have balance and moderation. And don’t forget your cardiovascular exercise; if is good for me is good for you!
