Barbara Moreno our Yogini and Yoga Teacher is giving as a beautiful and organic way to approach Yoga practice to help and release the emotional and physical tension that we can create.  Learning to Breathing and relax our mind.

Meaning of Karuna (compassion): Karuna is related to the word karma. It is the intention and capacity to relieve and transform suffering, to lighten sorrow. While the word karuna is generally “translated as “compassion,” which literally means to suffer with,” Thich Nhat Hanh, the Buddhist monk and teacher, has pointed out that we don’t need to suffer ourselves in order to alleviate the suffering of another person. Doctors, for instance, do not have to suffer illness in order to relieve their patients’ pain. The Buddha described karuna as the “quivering of the heart” we experience when we are open and able to truly see suffering and are moved to do something about it.

Let this summer our inner child manifest in our body, mind and soul.  Keep flowing and moving and always remember to be respect with your self, others and the Universe.

Standing Like a tree, playful like a child and practice the embryonic respiration like when the fetus is in the womb.  When we are connecting with the Cosmos, we are connecting with our Great and loved Mother.

Relaxing body and relaxing mind; Emotions that have been repressed for long periods of time are armored into specific muscular tensions and postural defect. For instance here finally I am relaxing my cervical spine even I have implant after ACS with diseconomy in May of 2013.
I just let the mind relax and then my body follow my breathing. I like to share this experience with the idea that we all are available to move again little by little with loving kindness energies. Namaste

 

 

The physical and emotional benefits of Yin Yoga and Pilates by Luz A. Lovern

Many injuries are caused by muscular imbalances within our bodies. Also we can injure our bodies when we are tense or move without to be present and fully aware of the movements.
There are many causes for these imbalances; our posture, our breath, our emotions, our state of mind, the way we walk, bend over, sit, lie down, or work out  this includes the way we sleep, or the way we talk…  basically the ways in which we move.  Most of us move incorrectly in some way or another, which puts too much pressure on some muscles and weakens others, causing an imbalance, causing unnecessary stress and using the wrong muscles.
In Yin Yoga we put emphasis on releasing our thoracic lumbar fascia, and all our Fascia network, targeting joint and relaxing muscles, breathing,  calming our mind and letting our body talk and communicate from within
I have had the magnificent experience to have had my own physical and emotional rehabilitation after 12 months from having had ACS with Diseconomy.
The way that we move may put too much pressure on the spine, hips, while weakening the pelvic muscles in the front of the body.  Either scenario creates an imbalance, which means the body is much more susceptible to serious strains, pulls, tears or worse.
Yin Yoga and Pilates exercises promote an even musculature throughout the body by strengthening the Hips area, Sacrum, Core, Spine, upper limbs and lower limbs.  As a Pilates and Yoga Teacher always I like to think that our body is a Work of Art.  No matter what is going on with us at the present moment, we are all unique and we all have the capacity to embrace the present, we are ONE!  
The Power House is considered the “center” of the body and consists of the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine.  And also as everybody know me I just redefine the Power House as a Unit and our entire body, mind and spirit.  You can read about that in my past posts. https://luzlife.com/2014/05/26/defining-the-new-power-house/
Working also with Yin Yoga principles helping to release the tension created by my own traumatic experience.  Realizing fiscally and emotional my entire humanity.  That why I give to Yin Yoga all the credibility because prepare your body for the Pilates as a Yang exercise.  As we know Yin and Yang are part of our inner Universe.  As the Universe is outside, it is also within.
At LuzLife Private Studio we work with all the Pilates equipment necessary to give the necessary energies to spinal and pelvic alignment, which is critical in getting us to move the way we are supposed to move to avoid injury.
Based on the principles of the Pilates repertoire; breathing, core strength, even musculature, we work on Fascia release and deeper stretching of the joints.
Another reason is that it provides a greater degree of flexibility than most conventional forms of physical therapy. This is true because Pilates and Yin Yoga exercises can be modified for each person to be extremely effective. You can go from basic movements to very advanced, depending on how a client or student needs to progress or how badly they are injured.  LuzLife Studio will take care of you, at the same way is taking care of me day by day.

Unknown-1 Modern lifestyles have grown increasingly less active and more stressful, impacting quality of life. The pace of today’s society, the worldwide aging population, and the now-public awareness of the mind-body connection has created an increasing interest in Yin Yoga and Pilates as mindful programs.
The Classical Pilates Method is based on an ample, integrated system of equipment. The mat exercises are only part of the technique, i.e. only 25 % of the Pilates exercises can be performed on a mat.

Because of this, the equipment allows one to shape, tone, lengthen and align the body differently from that of the mat.  In short, the equipment works better and faster to change the body.

Practice shows that the body needs to learn how to move correctly. The ability to perceive movement properly is rarely emphasized in modern society, allowing dysfunction to exacerbate.  While the brain recognizes basic movement patterns, it does not naturally focus on muscles or muscle groups or know how to sequentially build upon basic patterns of movement in a healthy way.2014-06-11 06.48.29-1

Just had a fantastic private lesson with Luz. Excellent focus on the mind – body connection , engaging the core at all times. As a result my alignment has improved so much as has my core strength. Kings of the Pilates equipment, Cadillac

We are going to dedicate the entire month of June of one of the Kings of the Pilates equipment belonging to the original Pilates program and created by J. H. Pilates.

The Cadillac was originally devised by Joseph Pilates to rehabilitate bedridden patients back when he was working as a hospital orderly. The apparatus has evolved a bit since the makeshift bed spring days, but its inspiration is apparent and it continues to be a bridge between exercise and physical therapy.

The Pilates Cadillac is an extremely versatile piece of the Classical Pilates Repertoire and, like all other Pilates equipment, can be used to progress and regress movement in order to address the functional needs of both the beginner and advanced Pilates Students. Defining the New Power House

“Pilates has not limit, our Power house is our heart”.

 I am always learning and having my own experience of life and give me new ideas and sharing with all of you.  I am practicing and learning from the core of my new Power House.  And Applying with my students.  I am very focused in how our emotions, memories, foods, stress, job and outlook of life can have big impact in our muscles, shape, bones, joints and entire body, mind and soul.  That why I decided to move forward.

I am defying the New Power House today.  I am sure J. H. Pilates is agree with me! Because The Pilates Method “Contrology” was created for a man who was learning from him self and giving away this marvelous gift.

From our head to the  the neck to the shoulders blade, from the scapulas all the way down to the hearth of the sacred sacrum,  inviting this time all our body, all our humanity that is in movement, the Unit is the key.  Breathing is the first sign of life, breathing with freedom is the sign of healthy mind.  Meditation is very important here, without quiet mind is impossible to achieve healthy body.  So all the session of Pilates Total ended with Meditation.  Remember we are ONE

My Pilates Inspiration today is my own experience and searching without hesitate that we always have hope because we are alive!  and of course all the magnificent Pilates Teachers and Yoga Teachers, I have in my journey.
