Once upon a time a baby princess was swept away by her entourage to protect her from the life of being raised as royalty in the kings court and hidden away in a family of gypsies in a far away land. She grew wearing second hand clothes and wearing the same clothes to school every day having to walk through cold winds and rain with the wind cutting through her thin clothes and rain soaking her worn socks through her worn out shoes. But everyday she survived telling herself that she was a princess and that all of these bad things will pass. Many years passed and she was sought out may many false princes who promised to restore her to the life of royalty that she deserved. Finally, one day she was crossing the street singing to herself a song that she knew would send her home to safety when a horse who did not know she was a princess ran her over and left her lying broken in the street and people who also didn’t know of her royalty picked her up and cared for her until she was well. She never told them she was a princess for fear that they would not believe. She then decided that she would set out on her own to find her castle and treasure that was waiting for her is a far away place that she did not know. Her travels took her to far away and unfamiliar jungles, seas and ruins of extinct civilizations; to far away continents and tropical jungles and high cold mountains where ruins of ancient civilizations and promises of spiritual enlightenment began to inspire her awareness of her true self realizing that her kingdom and her subjects were all around her where she went. She learned strength from the Ashanga people, endurance from the Garuda people and core awareness from the Pilates people. The tests of her journey left her with inner cervical focus that required the teachings and magic spells of the great Guru Verapan who helped her restore the inner strength to continue her journey. Still not satisfied that she was prepared to continue her journey to her kingdom she ventured to learn peace, meditation and breathing from the tribe of Yin. Now she fly one more time to meet her Pilates Guru; to bring back the the ultimate in Pilates for her own Studio.

Today her journey continue …

My experience with Luzlife and Luz started on the internet after a year or so of living in Doha. Until I met Luz, I knew nothing about pilates except that it was hugely trendy/popular and you could attend two types of classes: one that is taught on a mat and a second taught on two very intriguing machines called the reformer and the cadillac [which seemed to be the appropriate option for myself in my humble opinion]. I had once attended an awful collective pilates class in my early student years in Paris which was a complete disaster. The class was taught on a mat with 20 other students or so along with a very unexperienced teacher. As a result, I hated my class and never pursued pilates in Paris. However, I was curious to give it another try. This time, I was interested in using the machines and finding a teacher which would teach me the actual method along with the behind-the-scenes of pilates. This led to me meeting Luz and after a lot of convincing becoming one of her students. During my journey with Luz I have learned to love pilates and more importantly developed a very strong interest in the method itself and ANATOMY (which was something I did not expect to get from a pilates class). Luz is a very good and patient teacher but more importantly has a very good understanding of what she is teaching. She is clearly passionate about it and transferring knowledge to her students is one of her key elements which sets her out from the majority of teachers and trainers (in all disciplines) that I have met so far. Luz tailors each session specifically for me. Until now, each class has been different. The classes are organized according to what I wish to work with and especially to how my body reacts and its weaknesses. As she describes it, our journey is like pealing an onion. A new discovery in every layer. Luz has equally been a very important component in my recovery with my neck injury. She was one of the very few people that I reached out to. She assisted and is still helping me with my recovery from beginning to end (i.e. accompanying me for x-rays, listening to my complaining and rehabilitation) – way out of a pilates teacher’s scope of work. Luz has also inspired me in many other ways, her hunger and eagerness to constantly learn new material and her hard work inspires me to do the same. But more importantly, I admire how she has recovered from her neck injury and her journey till today without the assistance of any professional. Thank you Luz 🙂

In a timeless time long ago and a place long forgotten and fallen into myth, a fairy princess was secreted away by her entourage and rushed far away from her kingdom of myth to protect her from the life of being raised as spoiled royalty in the kings court and hidden away in a family of gypsies in a far away land today nearly forgotten and only known as Mundo P. She grew up in Mundo P wearing second hand clothes and wearing the same uniform to school every day, having to walk great distances over perilous pathways through cold winds and rain with the wind cutting through her thin ragged clothes and with rain soaking her worn socks through her worn and broken shoes. Everyday she survived by telling herself that she was a fairy princess and that all of these bad and unjust conditions will pass. During the many years that followed she maintained this inner strength even as she was sought out may many false princes who promised to restore her to the life of royalty that she deserved but only used her faith for their only selfish gain. Finally, one day while walking alone and singing to herself a song that she believed would carry her home to safety, she was crossed a street and a horse who was intent on its destination and did not know she was a princess deserving of special care, ran her over and left her lying broken in the street. Kind people of Mundo P, who also weren’t aware of her royalty, saved her from the cruel unfeeling street and cared for her until she was well. During her recuperation, the fairy princess dreamed of her need to journey to return to the land of myth but never told the kind people of Mundo P that she was this lost princess for fear that they would not believe. When she was well she decided to set out on her own journey to find her castle and treasure that was waiting for her in the a far away land of myth of which she now did not know and of which she could only imagine in her moments of sadness and discontent. Her journey carried her across mountains and seas to far away and unfamiliar jungles containing the ruins of extinct civilizations, to deserts filled with people of violent customs, incomprehensible logic who spoke unintelligible tongues, to far away continents and high cold mountains occupied by ancient and isolated civilizations offering promises of spiritual enlightenment that inspired her awareness of her true self. This new enlightenment caused the fairy princess to realize that her true kingdom was all around her. Through this enlightenment and with the counsel of its gurus, she learned discipline and the beat from people of Nautilus, strength and heat from the Ashanga people, endurance and grace from the Garuda people and core strengths and self awareness from the people of Pilates. But the tests of her journey left her with inner distractions that required the teachings and magic spells of the great guru of many heads Poungyunverachang who helped her restore the inner strength to continue her journey. Still not satisfied that she reached her journey’s end, she ventured to learn peace, meditation and the sense of breath from the tribe of Yin.
Today she again seeks out the people of Pilates and the lineage of Graham and OrYah to enhance her inspiration, knowledge and body memory of the practice of Joseph. With the arrival of the next moon, she will return to share new knowledge, awareness and energy in the Nido Mistica de LuzLife.
    The journey continues …
